Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)
1 Tola = 11.663 grams
The Nisab for gold will be 7.5 Tola which is 87.5g. (Awzan Shari'ah Pg.13)
The current price of gold is £19.899 per gram (price on 17/09/09).
87.5g * £19.899 = 1741.16
Therefore, The value of the Nisab is that of 87.5 grammes of gold, i.e. £1741.16 at current market rates.
