It is permissible to use the Miswaak of all types of tree twigs provided these are not harmful to the teeth or poisonous. The Miswaak of the Al Arak tree or also known as Peelo (in Urdu) is Masnun.

'Abdullah ibn Mas`ud (RadhiyAllahu Anhu) said: “I used to gather Siwak sticks from the Arak tree for the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).” (Musnad Ahmad Vol.1 Pg.420)
